Keynote Speaker

The room changes.
That's the penny drop.

Will Turner doesn't deliver information. He engineers the penny drop — the moment unconscious complexity becomes visible and a room sees something they can't unsee. Every session. Every room. Every page.

Seven signature talks. One system. Every talk is built to trigger a specific penny drop — the moment the simple human truth becomes impossible to ignore. The format and audience adapt. The outcome doesn't.

Simplexity
Why smart leaders make it harder than it needs to be — and how to stop
60 min Workshop available Any industry

Most leaders know something is wrong. The weight is real — the meetings that multiply, the strategies that collapse, the decisions that take too long. What they can't name is why. This talk names it. Will Turner shows leadership audiences precisely how they're creating complexity beyond what the situation requires — without knowing they're doing it. The penny drop happens live. People don't just leave thinking differently. They leave lighter. That's not inspiration. That's Simplexity.

The penny drop
"I've been treating complexity as something that happens to me. I've been creating it."

The Clarity Advantage
Why great leaders don't have a communication problem — they have a thinking one
45 min Workshop available Leadership teams L&D conferences

Every leadership communication programme teaches leaders how to say it better. Almost none of them ask whether the leader has actually found the thing worth saying. This talk dismantles the most expensive myth in leadership development — that clarity is a communication skill — and shows why the leaders who communicate with the most power got there by thinking differently, not speaking differently. Provocative, precise, and impossible to ignore. The room will never look at a deck the same way again.

The penny drop
"Every communication fix I've ever tried was treating the symptom. The problem was never how I said it."

The Human in the Room
The insight that unlocks every room
60 min Conference keynote Any industry

Every unsolvable business problem has a human being at its centre. Not a stakeholder. Not a customer segment. A person — with an experience that every other person in the room has already lived. This talk shows conference audiences why finding that person is always the fastest path forward — and why it produces the penny drop every time. For conferences where the room needs to move, not just learn.

The penny drop
"We've been solving for the problem. We should have been solving for the person."

The Fog Index
Measuring what your complexity is actually costing you
45–60 min Workshop available C-suite Boards

Most organisations don't have a complexity problem — they have a measurement problem. They can't see what the complexity is costing them, so they keep creating more of it. This talk gives leadership teams the diagnostic they've never had: a way to see their unconscious complexity clearly, for the first time. The Fog Index makes visible what effort has been hiding. For C-suite audiences who know something is wrong — and are ready to name it precisely.

The penny drop
"We've been measuring effort, not output. And we've been confusing the two."

The Cost of Complexity
What unconscious complexity is actually taking from your organisation
60 min Workshop available Executive teams Any industry

Complexity has a price. Leaders know it intuitively — the exhaustion, the drag, the decisions that take too long, the talent that quietly leaves. But they've never been able to name it precisely. This talk names it. Using original research and a universally human moment, Will Turner shows executive teams exactly what unconscious complexity is costing them — and why they've been paying it without knowing. For strategy conferences where the room is ready to stop describing the problem and start seeing it clearly.

The penny drop
"We created this. And we didn't know we were doing it."

Fluent Leadership
What the best leaders do without thinking — and how they got there
45–60 min Workshop available Leadership development High-performance

The best leaders aren't the ones with the most answers. They're the ones who can find the simple truth in any situation — instinctively, without effort. That's not talent. It's a developed capability with a name: Fluent Leadership. This talk shows leadership audiences what it looks like, why it outperforms every other leadership skill in conditions of complexity, and exactly how it is built. For leadership development conferences that want more than inspiration — they want a shift.

The penny drop
"I've been trying to get better at simplifying. I should have been trying to make it automatic."

The Penny Drop Culture
How the best organisations make clarity the norm — not the exception
45–60 min Workshop available HR & people culture OD conferences

The Penny Drop isn't just a personal event — it's a cultural one. In most organisations, complexity is quietly rewarded and clarity is quietly penalised. The result: a culture designed — without awareness — to preserve the Fog. This talk shows HR and culture leaders what a Penny Drop Culture looks like, what it costs to operate without one, and what it takes to build it deliberately. For people & culture conferences where the room is ready to name what's actually going on.

The penny drop
"We've been rewarding complexity and calling it thoroughness."

I.
Grounded in science

Every talk is built on peer-reviewed research — Kahneman, Ashby, Csíkszentmihályi, Klotz. Rigorous enough to earn credibility. Accessible enough to land with anyone in the room.

II.
Life-familiar by design

The signature Simplexity move: ground it in science, make it life-familiar, land it in the business context. In that order. Every time. The room recognises itself — and the penny drop becomes possible.

III.
The room shifts

Not inspiration. Not takeaways. A genuine cognitive shift — the moment where the simple truth was always there, and suddenly can't be unseen. People leave in a different place than where they started.

Will Turner is a Brisbane-based keynote speaker with more than 25 years of experience delivering to leadership audiences across Australia, Asia-Pacific, and internationally. He is the creator of Simplexity — a discipline for finding the simple human truth inside any complex challenge — and of the concept of unconscious complexity, which describes the complexity leaders create beyond what the situation actually requires.

His keynotes have been delivered to leadership teams in financial services, healthcare, technology, retail, professional services, government, and education. The methodology works across every sector because it is built on a universal human truth: complexity is almost always a choice, and so is clarity.

Will is available for conference keynotes, leadership offsites, internal all-hands events, and facilitator-led workshops. He works directly with event organisers and leadership teams to customise every session to the specific challenge the audience is facing.

Keynote (45–60 min) — Will's signature format. Fully customised to the audience and theme. The penny drop, live in the room.
Workshop (half-day) — Extends the keynote into applied work. Leadership teams leave with a shared language for complexity and clarity, and a concrete next step.
Facilitator (full-day) — Will facilitates the session, finds the unconscious complexity in the room, and uses the penny drop to move the group to a decision or new direction.
Virtual — Available for virtual and hybrid audiences. The penny drop works in any room.
Location — Based in Brisbane, Australia. Travels nationally and internationally.

"Will didn't just deliver a keynote. He changed the way our entire leadership team thinks about complexity. The penny drop was real — and we're still feeling it six months later."
